Aden Abdirizak is a perfect example that there isn't just one path in working life. Originally from Somalia, Aden moved to England at school age. He grew up amid the hustle and bustle of London and later studied hospitality and catering there.

Aden worked in a number of different restaurants until one day he had the idea of moving to Finland. He already had relatives living in Finland, and the calmer way of life eventually convinced him to move to Helsinki in 2019. On top of that, the change of scenery and smaller population gave Aden the courage to try something new.

Aden tried his hand at being a food courier, and he's still on that path today. At the same time, he seized the opportunity to become a light entrepreneur. As a food courier for Wolt, Aden has enjoyed working outdoors and deciding his own working hours.

Aden's main reason for starting out as a light entrepreneur was its ease and flexibility. At the same time, he was drawn to having full control over his own work matters, such as where and when he works.

The COVID era was challenging for many industries and businesses. For Aden, it was the opposite. Because of COVID, food delivery orders exploded, and Aden and other couriers had plenty of work — and then some. He genuinely enjoyed that time, and it's a period that has especially stuck with him during his three years as a food courier. Another highlight has been earning as much as €150 in tips in a single day thanks to his cheerful customer service.

There haven't been any entrepreneurs in his close family, but Aden is glad he decided to give entrepreneurship a try. Light entrepreneurship was an easy solution for this reason, since Truster has taken care of everything needed.

Light entrepreneurship has played a big role in Aden's everyday life. Nowadays he gets to shape his own daily routine. With the money he's earned, he has also bought a house in Turkey and invested in his home country, Somalia. Being a courier isn't always easy and requires a lot of energy. Aden said his biggest source of energy is his customers.
