Using a substitute and taxation
Updated
As a Wolt entrepreneur, you can use a substitute to help you. When you split invoices with your substitute through Truster, taxation is handled automatically.
How it works
When you split an invoice in the app, our system splits the amount and handles taxation on behalf of both parties.
- The invoice arrives: Wolt sends us the details of the gigs driven through your account. We create the invoice based on this information.
- You split it: Open the Truster app, click the invoice, click "Split invoice," and indicate what percentage (%) of it belongs to the substitute.
- We handle the rest: The money and taxes are automatically divided according to the invoice split.
The two most common situations
The substitute did the whole job (100 %)
You were off yourself and the substitute handled the deliveries. You transfer the entire invoice (100 %) to the substitute in the app.
- For you: €0 income → €0 taxes. The invoice itself is your company's income, and the expense = a result of 0.
- For the substitute: The substitute receives the full amount and pays taxes on it according to their own taxation.
You did the work together (e.g. 50/50)
You split the shifts equally. You transfer half of the invoice (50 %) to the substitute.
- You pay taxes only on the share you kept for yourself.
- The substitute pays taxes on their own share.
Important tip: Be careful with the percentages!
Once you confirm the split in the app, it is final. Always check at least twice that the percentage is correct before you press "Confirm."
- If the split is done incorrectly, it has to be corrected manually in the bookkeeping.
- Manually correcting an incorrect split is slow and a separate service fee is charged for it.
