Uber driver: Here's how to handle your taxes

Updated

As an Uber driver, you can use Truster for bookkeeping, but remember: you are your own bank.

How does it work?

Uber pays your driving fees directly into your account. That means Truster can't intercept taxes along the way to set them aside.

  1. Save: When Uber pays you, immediately set money aside for your VAT return and income taxes.
  2. Report: Download the Tax Summary (Verokooste) from Uber's portal and send it to us monthly in the app's Support Requests section.
  3. Pay: We prepare the VAT return based on your report. You go to OmaVero to pay the VAT amount yourself.

If you forget to submit the report or to save for taxes, an expensive surprise could be waiting for you. So handle your monthly reporting diligently!
