Which expenses can I deduct?
Updated
You can add expenses to an invoice that relate directly to the work and that the customer reimburses. Typical expenses include:
- materials and supplies needed for the work
- tools and equipment
- travel costs: mileage allowances and per diems
The expense must always relate to the work done and be justified. Personal expenses cannot be invoiced or received tax-free. If you don't invoice an expense from the customer, you can often deduct work equipment in your own taxation. Keep your receipts.
