What is YEL work income?

YEL work income is an estimate of the monetary value of your work input per year - essentially the amount you'd pay an outsider to do the work.

Work income is not the same as your invoicing or pay; it is set separately. It is the basis for your YEL contribution as well as your future pension and many Kela benefits (e.g. sickness and parental allowance). Estimate it realistically. You can use the YEL calculators that can be found from the pension company’s or Truster’s website.
