Deleting or crediting an invoice
Uuendatud
Sometimes an invoice ends up with an incorrect amount or is missing required information. In these situations, the invoice should not be left open — it must be credited to ensure the accuracy of the accounting.
The way to fix it depends on the invoice's status.
The invoice has NOT been sent
If the invoice is still in draft status, you can delete it. Click the draft invoice and select Delete.
An invoice that is still a draft has not yet been forwarded to your client, so deleting it leaves no trace in the accounting.
The invoice HAS been sent
If you've already sent the invoice and it has passed our review on its way to your client, the invoice must be credited.
A credit note is created via customer service. Send a message through the Support Requests section of the app and let us know that you want to credit the invoice. Please tell us exactly which invoice it concerns - the due date, amount, and recipient's name are usually enough. However, if you have several invoices with the same details, please specify precisely which invoice it is, so we can credit the correct invoice each time.
At your request, we'll create a credit note for the invoice, which is sent to your client. Your client is then informed that the invoice in question doesn't need to be paid. The credit note creates a negative invoice in your client's accounting, which zeroes out the original invoice. This way, your client's accounting stays up to date.
