How much does it cost to open a toiminimi (sole trader business)?

Setting up a toiminimi (sole trader business) is the first step toward entrepreneurship for many people. Opening a toiminimi is now simple and quick, and for most new entrepreneurs it's also free of charge.

Activating the sole trader service is free

Opening a Y-tunnus and activating the Pro Light service with an existing Y-tunnus is free – we don't charge anything for activating the service.

When can activating the sole trader service be charged for?

If you've ordered the Pro Light service and don't invoice anything, or if you want to move your invoicing and bookkeeping elsewhere within the next six months, you may be charged the standard price for activating the sole trader service (€140). If you're unsure about your situation, feel free to contact our customer service.

So opening a toiminimi and activating the sole trader service cost you nothing. However, if you don't use it, or you leave the service within six months, a separate fee may be charged.
